About The Role

Astute's Power Team is partnering with a leading provider of uninterruptible power supplies and switchgear solutions to recruit a Technical Support Engineer for its UK-wide service team. This is a strategically important role that offers an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled professional to contribute to a dynamic organization committed to innovation and customer satisfaction. The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for providing expert technical assistance to customers and internal teams, ensuring the seamless operation and application of switchgear products. The role involves troubleshooting, technical consultancy, training, and site support, playing a vital part in maintaining the company's reputation for quality and reliability.

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from 38,000 to 45,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a company van, pension scheme, overtime opportunities, door-to-door pay, and 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • An Electrical or Electronic Engineering diploma or an equivalent technical qualification.
  • A minimum of four years' experience within the low-voltage electrical sector, demonstrating practical knowledge of switchgear and power systems.

Responsibilities

The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for a range of duties aimed at supporting customers and internal teams effectively. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Providing comprehensive technical support to customers and sales teams regarding switchgear products, including application guidance, troubleshooting, and technical advice.
  • Proposing suitable solutions that meet customer application requirements while ensuring technical compatibility and clarity around assumptions or limitations.
  • Delivering product technical and catalogue training sessions to customers, sales staff, and other internal teams to enhance product knowledge and application understanding.
  • Attending customer sites to assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues promptly and effectively.
  • Supporting the sales team by preparing technical estimates and detailed quotations for potential projects.
  • Assessing customer product returns, conducting detailed technical evaluations, and preparing clear reports to facilitate issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
