About the Role

The Technical Support Engineer provides high-quality, value-added technical support for Deep Sea Electronics’ full range of electronic control modules, covering applications including:

  • Renewable energy
  • Backup/emergency power
  • Grid paralleling
  • Complex generator applications
  • Engine-only functions
  • Off-highway implementations

The role involves:

  • Supporting external customers globally via phone, email, remote sessions, and in-person visits
  • Assisting internal teams (production, engineering, sales, test & approvals) with technical guidance
  • Training global/local customers and internal personnel on products and applications
  • Conducting global/local customer visits for sales support, training, or fault-finding

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Technical Support

  • Provide global technical support—troubleshooting, training, and commissioning—across all DSE products
  • Deliver technical training on product functions, applications, and fault resolution
  • Test and validate customer-reported issues, following DSE’s remedial action procedures
  • Prepare and proofread technical documentation (manuals, training materials)
  • Develop technical guidance for new/existing product features

Internal Collaboration

  • Support test & approval departments in product testing
  • Work with internal teams (production, engineering, sales/marketing, support)
  • Comply with internal procedures & documentation
  • Submit a monthly report to the Global Support Manager

Stakeholder Liaison

  • Collaborate with other technical support engineers to understand products/functionality
  • Liaise with engineering and test teams for clarifications
  • Assist internal sales & marketing
  • Engage with regional Business Development Managers (BDMs)
  • Interface with DSE distributors, customers, integrators, and end-users
  • Support DSE supply chain partners as needed

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Strong general generator and control systems knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, remote)
  • Confident IT proficiency (remote desktop tools, software)
  • Ability to work independently with high concentration & commitment
  • Strong teamwork and time management abilities
  • Recent industry experience in generator/diesel generator sectors
  • Experience in a customer-facing support environment

Education & Qualifications

  • HNC level qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent industry experience)
