Plymouth City Councils Bereavement Service has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Officer to join us at Plymouth Crematorium at The Park.

About The Role

In this role, you will play a key part in the Bereavement Service by acting as the first point of contact to bereaved families providing advice and guidance, over the phone, by email or face to face. You will contribute to delivering an excellent customer facing service providing high quality administrative support and technical support ensuring that the needs of service users are met with care and professionalism.

Working in a small admin team you will mainly be responsible for processing the paperwork for cremation whilst supporting families with booking of Wakes, purchasing memorials and general enquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a front-line service, act as the first point of contact, give advice and signposting to members of the public, outside agencies and internal callers
  • Provide efficient, effective, business support across the Bereavement Service
  • Provide high quality administrative and technical support to customers
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of departmental objectives and service standards
  • Support day-to-day service delivery, ensuring smooth and compliant operations

We Are Looking For Someone Who Is

  • Highly organised individual with excellent attention to detail and proven experience in accurate data entry.
  • Experienced in business support, administration and front facing roles
  • A strong communicator who is naturally empathetic, patient and composed
  • Professional in appearance and conduct

The role will be based at Plymouth City Council’s Crematorium, The Park, which is located at Merafield Road, Plymouth.
