An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Property Services Planned and Adaptations Team for a Technical Support Officer.
The successful candidate will work as part of a small, collaborative team of surveyors and administrative staff to support the delivery of both major and minor adaptations across the Council’s housing stock. A strong understanding of, and compliance with, Council policies and procedures is desirable to ensure the effective and consistent delivery of the service.
- Provide office-based administrative support to the coordination of adaptation works
- Liaise with contractors
- Arrange appointments
- Maintain accurate records and systems
- Support delivery and ensure processes are followed
- Track progress effectively
Awareness of relevant legislation, including the Equality Act 2010, would be beneficial.

- Ability to manage workloads effectively
- Maintain accurate records
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders
- Tact, diplomacy, and ability to negotiate effectively

Essential Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to contribute to the resolution of complex customer enquiries and complaints

What is Local Government Reorganisation?
The Council is going through a major change as part of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and devolution. This means that the district and borough councils in Hertfordshire will be replaced by a smaller number of new unitary councils.
The aim is to make local government simpler and more efficient, improve services for residents, and bring decision-making closer to the communities we serve.

If you join Dacorum Borough Council between now and 31 March 2028, you will move to a new organisation on 1 April 2028. Your role will transfer to the new authority, but the way you work and who you report to may change.
