Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Property Services Planned and Adaptations Team for a Technical Support Officer.

The successful candidate will work as part of a small, collaborative team of surveyors and administrative staff to support the delivery of both major and minor adaptations across the Council’s housing stock. A strong understanding of, and compliance with, Council policies and procedures is desirable to ensure the effective and consistent delivery of the service.

  • Provide office-based administrative support to the coordination of adaptation works
  • Liaise with contractors
  • Arrange appointments
  • Maintain accurate records and systems
  • Support delivery and ensure processes are followed
  • Track progress effectively

Awareness of relevant legislation, including the Equality Act 2010, would be beneficial.

  • Maintain accurate records
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Tact, diplomacy, and ability to negotiate effectively

The Council is going through a major change as part of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and devolution. This means that the district and borough councils in Hertfordshire will be replaced by a smaller number of new unitary councils.

The aim is to make local government simpler and more efficient, improve services for residents, and bring decision-making closer to the communities we serve.
