Technical Team Leader - Regulatory Data - GCP
Regulatory Data Team Leader
As a Regulatory Data Team Leader, you will lead a cross-functional team in the delivery of regulatory reporting software solutions.
The Data Engineering department is responsible for writing software and reporting systems to communicate jurisdiction-specific information to international regulators. These solutions are developed to high standards, tuned for performance and reliability with low tolerances for error.
We operate an architecture grounded in:
- High-throughput, database-centric distributed applications
- Batch reporting capabilities
- Integration with SOAP and REST APIs
- Windows and web services, web applications
Responsibilities
- Ensure the team’s deliverables meet stringent regulatory reporting requirements while maintaining high technical design standards.
- Manage team performance, offering mentorship, coaching, and supporting development growth.
- Support the adoption of AI solutions to enhance workflows and reporting processes for the technical team.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks to align outputs with regulatory needs and best practices in software design.
- Own delivery of regulatory reporting solutions to health-specific regulatory benchmarks.
- Collaborate with Finance, Compliance, and other stakeholders to prioritise and advance project timelines.
- Oversee risks and dependencies, tracking them through to completion.
- Implement process improvements to drive efficiency and software quality in a high-throughput, fast-paced environment.
- Foster a collaborative, respectful, and supportive team culture.
- Provide project status updates to senior management, escalating potential bottlenecks that could impact milestone deadlines.
- Gain a deep understanding of existing regulatory reporting systems, including both regulatory requirements and their interpreted implementations.

Preferred Skills & Experience
Technical & Operational
- Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery, with hands-on experience in cloud architecture.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows, demonstrating practical project applications.
- Hands-on experience in leading geographically distributed software delivery teams.
- Highly organised and adaptable, with strong prioritisation and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to maintain positive outlooks while swiftly adjusting to changing requirements.
- Experience designing and implementing cloud-based software solutions as a distinct advantage.
- Familiarity with regulatory or gambling industries preferred.
- Strong commercial database development skills, including:
- SQL Server (2014+)
- T-SQL
- BigQuery
- GoogleSQL
