Technical Trainer

Due to retirement, we are now looking for a Technical Trainer. Someone who is ready to take a step into supporting the development and growth of our people across the dealer network and our valued customers.
You know what good looks like on a workshop floor. Maybe you’re an HGV Technician or a Workshop controller, who’s always been the go to person for advice. Maybe you've enjoyed coaching apprentices or mentoring your team. Now, you're ready to do more to inspire others, share your expertise, and help shape the future of Volvo Trucks technical capability.

Who Are You and Your New Colleagues?
You're a hands on expert with strong workshop knowledge and even stronger people skills. You have naturally taken on a coaching or mentoring role in the team.
You’ll bring with you:
- A solid understanding of how retail network’s function
- A strong technical background with experience on the workshop floor.
- Experience with workshop IT systems or similar industry tools
- Strong understanding of how dealer networks operate and what great customer service means
- Excellent communicator, able to engage confidently at all levels, both written and verbal
- Skilled at building trust and sharing knowledge in an approachable way
- Proactive self-starter who works well independently and adapts to change
- Level 4 NVQ heavy vehicle Maintenance or a Master Technician Qualification
You’ll report to our Technical Training Manager and become part of a collaborative, experienced team. Day-to-day, you’ll partner closely with internal colleagues, the dealer network and large fleet customers.
What You’ll do:
- Deliver engaging training sessions that follow clear module specifications and align with our business’s commercial competence plans.
- Ensure that learning sticks by embedding and re-evaluating competence development promptly, making sure every training activity truly builds the skills needed.
- Collaborate closely with external suppliers to maintain high quality and consistent training programs across the network.
- Take ownership of delivering all agreed competence development solutions professionally, effectively and on time.
- Support a variety of key Competence Development initiatives including apprenticeship programmes, the Technician of the Year competition and others.
- Create bespoke learning packages based on defined needs
- Help shape the learning environment across our network
- Travel regularly across the south and east deliver training and visit sites
- Travel to Sweden for additional training and development.
