Lead technical excellence. Develop capability. Drive wiring standards.

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Wires/Technical Trainer to join our growing operations team in Tewkesbury.

This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on wiring professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for developing others. Acting as both a subject matter expert and lead trainer, you will play a pivotal role in upskilling wiring teams across the business, embedding best practice, and ensuring consistently high standards in control panel, loom and harness wiring.

Reporting to the Head of Operations and working closely with the Production Manager, this role offers the chance to directly influence quality, safety, training, and operational performance across multiple sites.

If you are someone who enjoys mentoring others, improving processes, and leading from the front technically, we would love to hear from you.

The Role

As Senior Wires/Technical Trainer, you will take ownership of wiring capability development across the Group. You will act as the lead technical trainer and mentor, providing practical coaching, technical guidance, and structured support to junior staff, apprentices, and wider production teams, whilst also offering hands-on assistance within the wiring function as required to support production output.

This role is critical in ensuring wiring workmanship, IPC standards, documentation, quality, and safe working practices are consistently maintained and continuously improved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee wiring and assembly activities, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, quality standards, and safe working practices.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise junior wiring staff and apprentices.
  • Lead training delivery for both knowledge and workmanship elements of IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Interpret and work from electrical/electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Develop and maintain wiring training guides, SOPs, checklists, and competency documentation.
  • Conduct quality checks and troubleshoot technical wiring issues.
  • Promote health and safety best practice and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across wiring processes, training, and team performance.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for wiring-related queries across the Group.
  • Provide practical hands-on wiring support within the production team when required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
