Technical Training Lead
Technical Training Lead
We are looking for a Technical Training Lead to drive the strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement of technical training across our global organisation. This is a key leadership role responsible for:
- Managing a team of Technical Trainers,
- Ensuring high-quality training delivery, and
- Developing innovative learning solutions that support employees, partners, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and developing a team of Technical Trainers, ensuring capability, performance, and resource planning align with business needs.
- Overseeing the design, delivery, and governance of technical training programmes across multiple product lines and competency levels.
- Managing and maintaining a comprehensive library of training materials, ensuring content remains current, accessible, and available in multiple formats and languages, where required.
- Coordinating Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the business to support specialist training delivery.
- Driving the adoption of modern learning technologies, including:
- eLearning
- Video-based learning
- Emerging solutions such as VR
- Monitoring training effectiveness, analysing skills gaps, and using insights to continuously improve learning outcomes.
- Ensuring accurate administration and reporting within the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Partnering with:
- Sales
- Service
- Product Development
- Learning & Development (L&D)
- External providers To support:
- Product launches
- Customer training
- Onboarding
- Wider learning initiatives
- Promoting training opportunities across the business and supporting the commercial delivery of customer training solutions.
- Representing the Training function in:
- New product development
- Product improvement
- Business-wide capability projects

- Proven experience leading technical training, learning, or capability development teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions.
- Experience designing and delivering technical training programmes in a complex or engineering-based environment.
- Knowledge of:
- LMS platforms
- Training analytics
- Competency-based learning frameworks
- Passion for developing people and creating engaging learning experiences.

Qualifications
Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Experience in a technical training, Learning and Development (L&D), or instructional design role, ideally with prior management/leadership experience.
- Competency in using:
- Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Development of eLearning materials
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible, engaging educational content.
- Excellent:
- Presentation
- Coaching
- Stakeholder management skills (to work cross-functionally)
- Experience leveraging data-driven insights to:
- Define success metrics
- Drive continuous improvement in training programs
- Appreciation of:
- Project management
- Resource coordination (operating across a global workplace)
- HND / HNC (or equivalent) in:
- Engineering, preferably:
- Electrical
- Electronic
- Mechatronics
- Engineering, preferably:
- Ideally:
- In-depth understanding of industries Rotork operate in (Petrochemical, Water treatment and Power industries)
- Experience in Rotork products (Electric and/or Fluid power actuators, network systems) or equivalent technical product knowledge, allied with a good understanding of their application
- Prepared to travel:
- Sometimes at short notice
- Within country and overseas
