Technician
Location : This is site based role, working out of the Nuneaton DC
Contract Type : Permanent
Shift Pattern: Rotating 6-2, 2-10 Monday to Friday (+ 15% shift allowance)
The Opportunity
To provide on a shift basis, preventative, reactive and continuous improvement (project) Maintenance services including inspection, diagnosis, repair, calibration, improvements and upgrading of control equipment and handling equipment. This position requires a multi-skilled, but Electrically strong candidate.
The Department
The Facilities operation is responsible for the reliable and safe operation of all equipment processes for the Nuneaton site. Our goal is to deliver zero downtime, zero accidents and 100% customer order fulfilment to the schedules set out by the logistics and operations function.

Rotating 6-2, 2-10 Monday to Friday
What You Will Be Doing
Respond to calls in areas of equipment failure, prioritising tasks to maximise the use of available resource. liaise and communicate daily with the Shift Supervisor and/or Manager to ensure activities are correctly aligned and passed over for operational needs. Maintain the working environment and workshops in a safe and tidy condition, with high level of housekeeping Identify personal training requirements and carry out requested training; be prepared to develop skills in fields you are unfamiliar with. Liaise and work with external contractors when requested, overseeing their tasks and assessing their competence. Ensure you work compliant with company H&S rules and statutory H&S regulations. Apply Failure Analysis or Root Cause Analysis to equipment failures and put in place follow-up proposals / actions to eliminate any future repetition.
Proactive and CI duties
Complete routine planned maintenance and servicing on all MHE equipment to maximise availability and operability of all plant & equipment. Record and document activity in an orderly and professional manner to ensure traceability of data and improve fault finding capability on repetitive faults. Utilise the stores system; maintain and update records of parts used in Agility; to enhance availability and cost effectiveness of parts stock to minimise repair times and maximise first time fix. Incrementing and decrementing spares stock levels. Access and update the PPM Agility system to sign off job sheets. Propose and carry out CI projects which embrace technical innovation, company vision and equipment uptime. Assist in the installation, commissioning and trials of equipment as directed by supervision.

Reactive duties
React to Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE), and (where necessary Building Engineering Services) equipment breakdowns and conduct first response repairs, maximising equipment uptime. Liaise closely with control room and operations to prioritise maintenance activities to best match operational needs. Record relevant information accurately and professionally to assist in the target of continuous equipment improvement.
What You’ll Bring
Recognised Maintenance Qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above) or Apprenticeship or equivalent Maintenance experience. (Ofqual Level 3: i.e. BTEC Nationals, awards, certificates and diplomas Level 3, Cambridge Technical Level 3) Experience with MHE equipment, electro-mechanical systems and detection equipment. Able to demonstrate suitable Electrical qualifications to work with 3ph 400V circuits. Knowledge of Maintenance Risk activities, assessing and auditing tasks for safe working adherence. An understanding of legal compliance in a maintenance environment including COSHH & PUWER. General PC skills using Microsoft office packages. The role is a physically demanding role at times, with the need to climb, crawl and carry out various manual handling tasks. Ability and willingness to work nightshift and reasonable overtime. Able to interpret electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and PLC drawings and schematics. Role model first class levels of Health & Safety behaviour.
