Vehicle Technician

42.5 hour week | 1 in 4 Saturdays | OTE £42,400

Earnings and Progression

  • Competitive basic salary: £32,000–£37,000 (dependent on qualifications)
  • On-target earnings: £37,400–£42,400
  • Career progression potential up to £51,400 OTE as skills and experience develop
  • Structured career and training pathway

Working Pattern

  • Full-time role
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
  • Saturday mornings, 1 in 4 rotation (8:30 AM–12:30 PM)

About the Technician Role

As a Vehicle Technician at Williams Motor Group, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and diagnostics on vehicles
  • Ensuring all work meets safety and manufacturer standards
  • Supporting a skilled and collaborative workshop team
  • Delivering consistent quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction

Responsibilities

  • Perform servicing, repairs, and maintenance to a high standard
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using computer-based tools
  • Repair or replace faulty components efficiently and safely
  • Conduct road testing to confirm repairs are completed correctly
  • Follow manufacturer checklists and procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and professional standards in tools, equipment, and workshops
  • Keep accurate job records and follow workplace processes
  • Work collaboratively to meet targets for quality and efficiency

Requirements

  • Full, valid UK driving licence
  • City & Guilds Level 3 or IMI Level 3 qualification (Level 2 experience also considered)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team-focused approach
  • Proactive and positive attitude
  • Genuine pride in quality workmanship
