Technician

Junior Medical Equipment Technician / Deliverer

Location: UK (including Europe travel as required) Employment Type: Permanent Salary: Competitive hourly rate + overtime

About the Role

As a Junior Medical Equipment Technician / Deliverer, you will play a crucial role in the delivery, installation, and technical support of high-value medical imaging devices (CTs, MRIs, X-ray systems), while assisting in Break Fix, Service & Maintenance tasks.

You will work across varied projects, liaising with customer project teams, project coordinators, and third-party contractors, ensuring seamless delivery, setup, and handover.

Main Activities

The role requires flexibility, physical labour, and attention to detail. Key responsibilities include:

Delivery & Installation

  • Delivery & positioning of high-value medical devices (CTs, MRIs, X-ray systems) across the UK and Europe
  • Running system cables and making final electrical/technical connections
  • Installing and aligning protective/deterministic system covers
  • Assisting in demo equipment preparation (e.g., C-Arms, Incubators)
  • Loading/unloading heavy equipment and facilitating smooth delivery processes

Technical & Maintenance Support

  • Performing Fault Diagnostics and Break Fix services (non-medical)
  • Supporting technical centre duties as allocated
  • Completing thorough timesheets, delivery paperwork, andPOSTING records per project

Logistics & General Tasks

  • Holding a clean driving licence (essential for -general driving/delivery duties)
  • Operating specialised lifting/craning equipment for safe equipment handling
  • Assisting with urban/local vehicle deliveries, offloading, and unloading
  • Travel required across the UK and wider Europe (OCND/holiday time availability needed)

Requirements

Key Skills & Experience

  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and operate equipment (~30kg+ repeatedly with/without mechanical aids)
  • Basic mechanical/electrical aptitude (or willingness to learn)
  • Experienced certifiable Driver (independent driving, reversing, and maintaining licences)
  • Experience in manual handling, including manual or mechanised operations
  • Variety of workplace hours (including:
    • Regular overtime (~2 weekends/month)
    • Frequent extended site/outbreaks beyond a rotational pattern
    • Emergency call outs as necessary
  • Proofable Word & Excel competence for reporting & hours administration
  • Adjustable mind-set for erratic work conditions, learning on the fly, and proactive problem-solving

Essential Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) for customer-facing tasks
  • Professionalism & discretion when dealing with specialised medical equipment
  • Strong teamwork attitude alongside independent and initiative-driven work
  • General education level mastery (equivalent to GCSE/D or standard A-level standard)
