Technician Band 3 - UO13 to UO15
£25,249 to £26,093 per annum
Continuing Contract
The position involves providing routine technical support to the Centre for Biomedicine by ensuring the smooth and safe operation of laboratory facilities.
- Maintaining the biobank by receiving, labelling, storing and retrieving samples from ultra-low temperature freezers and liquid nitrogen storage systems.
- Monitoring storage conditions, and maintaining accurate electronic records.
- Carrying out routine calibration of laboratory equipment such as pipettes and balances.
- Supporting a scheduled autoclave service.
- Assisting with laboratory waste disposal.
- Collecting, organising and redistributing laboratory coats for external laundering.
- Cleaning, organising and maintaining laboratory equipment and workspaces.
- Monitoring stock levels of consumables.
- Undertaking basic equipment troubleshooting.
- Reporting faults or issues to senior technical staff.

The post holder works in accordance with established procedures and health and safety requirements, communicates routine information to staff and students, and contributes to an effective and collaborative technical support service.
