Technician (Brewing)

Supply Chain - Brewing Technician

Location: Manchester

Salary: £55,505 per annum (inclusive of Shift Allowance) + Benefits as detailed below Contract: 6 Month Fixed Term Shift Pattern: 4 days on – 4 days off (covering 2 days and 2 nights) Closing Date: 15th October 2025

The Role: Maintenance Technician (Brewing Lines)

Based within our brewing production, you’ll ensure our machines run efficiently for cider & beer production (approx. 5m litres/year). Proactive partners between magnets & quality, you’ll:

Core Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • As a troubleshooter:
    • Fix corrective/reactive maintenance for defects and breakdowns
    • Debug electrical, automation and mechanical faults, minimising downtime
    • Lead root cause analysis for problems, implementing solutions (training, efficiencies, safety protocols)
  • Spot risk early:
    • Monitor production lines, document inspections (via the CMMS system)
  • Collaborate & lead:
    • Coordinate planned/organised maintenance; guide shop-floor operators on tasks
    • Collaborate with Team Leads on productivity challenges

  • Specialisms: Stringent brewing operations—from ingredient sourcing to taste consistency and compliance.

Requirements Checklist

Preferences We’d Love to See

Check one or many of these—ojourney experience isn’t a barrier to growth!

  • Education/Qualifications:
    • Near/full completion of an apprenticeship or
    • HND in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or
    • Level 3 NVQ equivalent or
  • A self-taught multiskilled engineer (prioritising electrical bias)
  • 2+ years in manufacturing safety-critical environments, especially packaging lines
  • Familiarity with CMM (Computer Maintenance Management) systems

Mindset & Soft Skills

  • Proven track record in continuous improvement and data-driven problem-solving
  • Coachable attitude for autonomous & guided initiatives
  • Autonomous yet teamworks easily
