Technician - Decoration
Technician – Sustainable Packaging Production
Reporting to the Production Manager
You’re an innovative thinker, passionate about the planet, and eager to play a crucial role in creating sustainable packaging that keeps the world healthy, fed, and functional. You’ll provide technical support to ensure both planned and unplanned work is executed effectively, efficiently, and to the Company and Customer standards at all times.
Working hours: Double shifts (6:00 AM–2:00 PM, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM).
Key Job Accountabilities
As part of the Technician Team, you will be responsible for:
Technical and Operational Duties
- Tool changing and design adjustments: Modify printing and blocking machines to specification.
- Job-specific setup: Create, use, and update setup sheets with all required information to share with the technical team.
- Tool servicing: Prepare tooling for production as needed.
- Machine setup & maintenance: Adjust machinery and replace ink supplies as required.
- Fault finding: Diagnose and resolve issues with machinery.

Quality Control & Compliance
- Perform quality and resistance checks before and during production runs.
- Collect and analyse reject figures, ensuring accuracy and identifying opportunities to minimise waste.
- Maintain production quality to meet customer requirements and company standards.
Administration & Safety
- Complete line clears and ensure formal sign-off on log sheets prior to production.
- Organise materials proactively to minimise downtime.
- Act as Fire Marshal for the department, adhering to evacuation and sweep procedures.
- Be proactive with administration and reporting as necessary.

Daily Responsibilities
- Keep the department safe, tidy, and clean during and after each shift.
- Comply with quality standards (including BRC, Health & Safety, and Environmental policies).
- Complete post-production tasks when required.
Leadership & Accountability
- Oversee assigned Production Orders (POs) as a lead technician.
- Ensure full compliance with legislation, work policies, and procedural standards.
