About the Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Technician – Electrical to join our Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team, working alongside EDF Energy Nuclear Operations to support the UK’s nuclear fleet. This position is based within our Stations Services team at Heysham Power Station.
In this role, you will:
- Support routine maintenance, testing, refurbishment, modifications, and outage activities across the UK’s nuclear power stations
- Report to the Site General Manager and Field Supervisors
- Work within a diverse and inclusive collaborative team (client and supplier)**, ensuring safe operational status through high standards of performance

Key Responsibilities
You will need to demonstrate:
- A proven track record working in highly regulated environments with a strong safety-first culture
- Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork abilities, with a results-driven and collaborative mindset
- Technical proficiency to support:
- Plant maintenance, routine testing, refurbishment, modification, and outage activities
- Electrical systems compliance and operational reliability
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
✔ Commitment to all health and safety guidelines and adherence to regulated environments ✔ Experience in a structured organisation with strong safety-critical focus ✔ High standards in engineering and health and safety ✔ NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in one of the following:
- Mechanical
- Electrical
- Control & Instrumentation (C&I)
- Civil, Construction & Commissioning ✔ NVQ Level 3 in Lifting and Moving Loads ✔ Validated apprenticeship in the relevant technical discipline ✔ Proven experience as a Technician (or equivalent role) ✔ Expertise in:
- Plant, machinery and systems
- Hand tools and precision measurement instruments
- Work Order Cards, RAMS, instructions, blueprints, schematics, and containment drawings
- Systems such as HVAC and their components
