Machine Operator / Technician – Blackwood
Join our extremely successful paper packaging manufacturing plant in Blackwood, which has thrived for the past 15 years. We produce items for some of the best-known food outlets in the UK and offer a structured development program to grow your knowledge and career.
About the Role
This position is focused on maximising department machine output and ensuring adherence to manufacturing processes specifications. You’ll collaborate with team members to continuously enhance manufacturing performance, including leading by example or resolving issues.
The role operates across a 3-shift pattern, covering mornings, afternoons, and nights, from Monday to Friday. Key responsibilities include:

- Effective preventative and reactive maintenance
- Machinery setup and repairs
- Supporting high-volume production on state-of-the-art equipment
What You Will Do
- Provide engineering and operational support to manufacturing areas
- Set and maintain machinery to achieve product specification and performance
- Oversee automated inspection systems
- Conduct fault finding, corrective action, and machine inspections
- Respond to minor/major machine breakdowns
- Perform preventative maintenance
Who You Are
We’re looking for a time-served technician with:
- 3+ years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience in FMCG/packaging/food sector machinery (preferably high-speed production)
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Adaptability and strong collaboration with teams
- Independence and decision-making where necessary
- Right to Work in the UK (previous applicants/agencies need not apply)

We Offer You
- An annual salary of £30,906.75, plus a 15% shift allowance (£4,636.01)
- Potential for a 7-day continental rota, offering a 35% shift premium (£10,817.36)
