We are seeking a Technician Instructor to join our team. In this role you will support high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment by providing expert technical instruction, practical demonstrations, and hands-on support within the curriculum area. This will include working with individuals and small groups of learners to develop their practical skills, understanding, confidence, and professional behaviours in preparation for further study, employment, and progression opportunities.
The postholder will be responsible for:
- Preparing, maintaining, and managing safe, well-resourced, and industry-standard learning environments
- Ensuring all equipment, tools, and materials are fit for purpose and compliant with health and safety requirements
- Contributing to the effective day-to-day running of the provision through strong teamwork, high standards of professionalism, and responsive support for both staff and students
- Maintaining a clear commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the creation of a safe and positive learning environment for all learners

Job title: Technician Instructor - Hairdressing
Part Time - 37 Hours per week, 40 weeks per year.

About the role:
- Deliver technical skills demonstrations and provide technical instruction for student groups
- Prepare materials and equipment as needed by teaching staff and students in a timely, effective and efficient manner
- Maintain an effective and timely stock control system of materials and consumables including the ordering of stock/materials/equipment
- Effectively and professionally liaise with teaching staff to ensure students’ needs are met within practical delivery sessions
- Maintain workshops, equipment and tools to the highest standards ensuring statutory requirements are met
- Provide classroom support and technical guidance for teaching staff and learners
- Contribute to and/or oversee practical, community or college projects ensuring high standards of work are maintained at all times

Essential Experience:
- Education to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject or equivalent industrial experience
- Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent
Essential Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience of up-to-date industry legislation
- Experience of maintaining equipment associated with relevant sector
- Industry experience within relevant sector
