We are seeking a Technician to join our team. In this role you will support high-quality teaching, learning and assessment by providing expert technical instruction, demonstration and practical support within the curriculum area.
The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing and maintaining safe, well-resourced and industry-standard learning environments, helping learners to develop the practical skills, knowledge, confidence and professional behaviours required for progression, employment and future success.
Working closely with staff and students, the postholder will contribute to the effective day-to-day operation of the provision through strong teamwork, high standards of support, and a clear commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, equality and health and safety

Job title: Technician - Media
Part Time (18.5 Hours per week), Permanent
Braintree Campus
About the role:
- To prepare materials and equipment as needed by teaching staff and students in a timely, effective and efficient manner.
- To maintain an effective and timely stock control system of materials and consumables including the ordering of stock/materials/equipment.
- To effectively and professionally liaise with teaching staff to ensure students' needs are met within practical delivery sessions.
- To maintain workshops, equipment and tools to the highest standards ensuring statutory requirements are met.
- To contribute to and or oversee practical, community or college projects ensuring high standards of work are maintained at all times.
- To ensure good health and safety practices by adhering to local area codes of practices and all other related College Health & Safety policies, including completion of Portable Appliance Testing on electrical equipment.
- To competently and professionally liaise with customers and employers.

Essential Experience:
- Industry experience within relevant sector.
- Experience of maintaining equipment associated with relevant sector - Media equipment such as cameras, media equipment, studio lighting, audio. - Computer equipment and software related to Media courses.
- Knowledge and experience of up-to-date industry legislation.
Essential Qualifications:
- Educated to Level 3 or above and/or hold a relevant professional qualification or equivalent industrial experience.
- Hold a minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics, including GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent qualification).
