Job Description

Description
To facilitate the learning process by supporting staff and students in an effective learning environment. Deliver technical assistance for both internal and external use of all Media and Graphics classrooms, workshops and studio. To support the growth and quality of provision of the Media and Games provisions and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide direct support to teaching staff by maintaining and promoting lively working environment and practices.
- To work with and ensure that staff and students have access to classrooms, workshops, studio, equipment as required.
- To ensure timely liaison with the IT Services team to proactively address any technical issues, in order to facilitate the smooth running of all events and competitions.
- Transfer and organise various evidence for assessment.
- To prepare and assist in activities ensuring all materials and equipment are prepared in readiness for practical sessions and retrieved after the activity has ceased.
- Assist in group activities, supervise use of specialist equipment, and undertake set-up duties prior to sessions / competitions.
- Be available for any internal or external bookings for the Esports arena and Games Studio.
- Undertake all out of hours activity as can be reasonably expected when requested by management.
- Be responsible for the security of equipment on and off college premises.
- Record, edit audio/video files and create content for college social media and marketing.
- To assist with the supervision of students working on project work and competitions and research visits and enrichment activities.
- To explore new innovative workflows relating to department specialism and support staff with upskilling and implementing new software and hardware into curriculum through continuous development and improvement of professional knowledge.
- Be flexible in supporting the department requirements and cross college tasks.
- Be responsible for ordering requisitions and storekeeping.
- Be responsible for tracking licenses and update as required.
- Be responsible for running, tracking the discord server, Twitch and Teams channels for competitions.
- Be responsible for the management of console account.
- Be responsible for client engagement, networking to develop work experience opportunities for Games and Esports clients.
- Any other duties, of a similar level of responsibility, as may be required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- GCSE English & Maths
- How Identified: Application
Desirable Criteria
- Degree in a related subject area within Media and/or Graphics
- A background/knowledge of Film & Television and Graphical Design
- How Identified: Application/Interview/Practical Assessment
Experience
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 3 years related industry or Further Education experience – specifically running a multi-cam studio, gallery and audio post-production
- Solid background/knowledge of related creative arts disciplines
- Technical knowledge within the study programme area as defined by the course specification
- Intermediate level skill in the use of Microsoft applications, particularly Word and Excel

Specialist Knowledge
Essential Criteria
- Technical knowledge within the study programme area as defined by the course specification
- Confident understanding of required software and skills in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder, Illustrator, and other Media and Graphics specialist software
- Basic level in Microsoft applications particularly Word and Excel
- Willing to undertake training appropriate to the role
- Audio and video recording and editing skills, appropriate for the role.

IT Skills
