Service Technician (Vehicle Technician / Mechanic) — Blackburn Volkswagen (Permanent, Full-Time)

The Role
Looking for a dedicated Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our Blackburn Volkswagen workshop. Reporting to the Aftersales Manager, you’ll conduct vehicle health checks, services, and repairs, while delivering exemplary customer service. This role includes:
- Competitive pay: OTE up to £52,480 (uncapped), with a basic salary range of £28,000–£43,000, plus a £3,000 annual bonus (educated performance and time saved).
- Hours: 40/week (Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM) + 1 in 3 rotating Saturdays (8:30 AM–12:30 PM).

Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Qualified as a Vehicle Technician or experienced Mechanic (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent), with a full UK driving licence.
- Self-motivated, high standards-driven, and eager to excel.
- Experience in a franchise or dealer group is advantageous but not mandatory (training provided).
- Familiarity with German brands not essential.

Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Maintenance & Diagnostics
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles.
- Perform guidelines-aligned checks (mechanical, electrical, lights, tyres).
- Complete health assessments and report required repairs.
- Check for faults, conduct road tests, and diagnose both mechanical and electrical issues.
Repairs & Customer Service
- Carry out minor repairs (new/used vehicles) based on customer/manufacturer requirements.
- Fit customer-requested accessories.
- Ensure warranty compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and efficiently.
