Job Description

Join Heathrow’s Specialist Systems Engineering team and support the critical technologies that enable the safe and efficient movement of millions of passengers each year. You’ll maintain, troubleshoot and enhance a diverse range of operational systems, including cabin baggage screening equipment, CCTV, PLC control systems, Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS) and other specialist airport technologies.

This role offers exposure to a broad portfolio of complex systems, providing far greater variety than a typical engineering position. We’re looking for engineers who thrive on technical challenges, enjoy working across multiple technologies and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

About The Role

In this hands-on engineering role, you’ll maintain and enhance Heathrow’s critical operational systems, including cabin baggage screening equipment, CCTV, PLC control systems and Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS). Working across a diverse range of technologies, you’ll support maintenance, fault diagnosis, technical upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives that drive asset reliability, operational performance and the passenger experience. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who enjoy technical variety, problem-solving and continuous learning in a highly collaborative environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
