Job Role - Technician at Peoples Group
Our technicians are the backbone of our Workshops and play a vital role in keeping our customers and their vehicles safe and on the move. In this role, you will have the chance to work on a huge range of vehicles, from unique Ford models to the newest hybrid and electric vehicles and everything in-between.
We are proud to offer continuous development and training for anyone who wants to take us up on the offer. We have fast track programmes in place via the Ford Master programmes for those who are keen to progress quickly, IMI Level 4 training for those who want to continually push their knowledge, in-house training for those who want to broaden their company knowledge, as well as certified training for Electric and Hybrid vehicles for those who love learning the latest technologies. These are just a few of the options on offer, believe us the list is long. We want you to be able to choose which route and level suits you best.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Service Manager, responsibilities will include:
- Carry out diagnosis, repairs, and servicing to the highest standards and to the appropriate specification.
- Carry out diagnosis of system faults and rectify the faults, including replacing components and returning vehicle systems to manufacturer specification.
- Deliver and maintain high levels of quality and excellent levels of customer service at all times.
- Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices of self and others.
- Liaise and seek advice from colleagues and supervisors in situations that are over and above work specified.
- Check level and quality of work through use of diagnostic equipment and road testing vehicles after work has been carried out. Liaise with Workshop Controller and Service Advisor.
- Complete relevant service documentation (Job sheets, PDI’s, service reports) in line with warranty and Dealer requirements.
- Attend training in accordance with Ford Motor Company’s Premium Standards.

What You’ll Have
- A full UK driving licence
- A minimum of 3 years’ current experience in a service, maintenance, and repair Technician role
- A relevant industry qualification

Hour Options
- 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, together with a Saturday morning rota basis
or
- 40 hours per week worked over 4 days Monday to Thursday with a Saturday morning rota
