Warwick Arts Centre is seeking an experienced, adaptable, and technically skilled Stage Technician to join their team. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering live events, ensuring the highest standards of technical presentation while collaborating closely with visiting artists and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Specialize in stage technician tasks, including:
- Counterweight flying
- Load-ins and fit-ups
- Running of shows
- Basic AV operations
- Lighting & sound assistance
- Communicate effectively with visiting companies and hirers for incoming productions and events.
- Uphold health and safety regulations while maintaining strict adherence to licensing requirements.
- Assist with timely equipment maintenance, inspections, and compliance checks across the stage, auditorium, and rehearsal spaces.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends (note: 5% availability allowance included in salary).
This role demands proactive problem-solving, teamwork, and adaptability within the dynamic live events sector.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced stage technician with:
- Significant professional experience in theatre/live event environments, with expertise in:
- Counterweight flying & rigging
- Complex fit-ups & stage operations
- Health & safety compliance
- Technical skills including:
- Communication with external clients and internal teams
- Operational knowledge of equipment, AV rigs, lighting, and sound
- Experience with theatre software and interpreting technical drawings
- Personal attributes:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong calm under pressure, organisation, and people management
- Passion for technical stage management and delivering exceptional live experiences
