Technician / Instructor – Multi Skills (Construction)
Role: Full-time | Permanent Salary: £24,758 per annum Location: Poole (North Road & Fulcrum Campuses)
About the Role
Join our Construction team at Bournemouth & Poole College as a passionate and practical Technician / Instructor – Multi Skills.
If you have hands-on experience in carpentry, multi-skills, or wet trades and love sharing your knowledge in a workshop environment, this opportunity is ideal for developing a career in education.
You will be employed through Southern Educational Professional Services Ltd, a subsidiary of Bournemouth & Poole College.
Responsibilities
Your role will involve:
- Ensuring workshops run smoothly, safely, and effectively by:
- Preparing tools, materials, and equipment for practical sessions
- Maintaining and repairing workshop equipment to a high standard
- Managing stock, ordering materials, and ensuring cost efficiency
- Supporting practical demonstrations and student learning
- Ensuring workshops meet all health & safety standards (including COSHH)
- Keeping workshop environments organised, safe, and industry-relevant

About You
We are looking for the following qualities:
- Level 2 (or equivalent) in English & Maths
- Experience in a workshop or construction environment
- Knowledgeable about tools, materials, and industry practices
- Highly organised with strong problem-solving skills
- Passionate about safe working practices
- Supportive, patient, and committed to helping learners succeed
- Willing to gain a teaching qualification
