Vehicle Service Technician
Location: Lookers Chester Vauxhall & Kia
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary:
- OTE up to £52,480 (Uncapped)
- £34,000 basic salary + £3,000 Productivity Bonus + Time Saved Bonus Scheme
Hours:
40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm), plus one in three Saturday mornings
About the Role
We're currently recruiting for a Level 3 Service Technician to strengthen our growing team!
Lookers Chester Vauxhall & Kia are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join their fantastic workshop. Working alongside 11 experienced technicians and 3 apprentices, you will carry out:
- Vehicle health checks using the latest technology
- Conducting vehicle services
- Carrying out repairs as required
With guidance from your Aftersales Manager, you’ll have access to exceptional training opportunities, including:

Responsibilities
- Carrying out pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles
- Conducting checks in line with manufacturers’ guidelines
- Fitting customer-requested accessories
- Performing vehicle health checks and reporting any further work needed
- Inspecting lights, tyre pressure, mechanical and electrical components
- Completing minor repairs on new and used vehicles
- Understanding and carrying out basic mechanical and electrical diagnoses
- Servicing vehicles per manufacturer guidelines and customer requirements
- Conducting additional repairs after receiving customer authorisation
- Ensuring compliance with warranty repair guidelines and accurate write-ups
- Performing road tests to confirm fault resolution
- Maintaining detailed and compliant paperwork
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
- Motor industry experience (brand or non-brand)
- A full and valid UK driving licence
- Self-motivation, ability to work in a team, and commitment to self-improvement
- Strong ambition to develop further in the industry
While brand-specific experience is desirable, it is not essential as brand accreditation training will be provided.
Desirable (not essential):
- Diagnostic experience
- MOT experience
- EV/Hybrid training background
