Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Technician/MOT Tester role based at Farnsfield Auto Centre in Farnsfield. The Technician/MOT Tester will carry out MOT tests in accordance with DVSA regulations, perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on a variety of vehicles. The role involves:

The Technician/MOT Tester will maintain workshop equipment, complete relevant documentation, and follow all health and safety procedures. The individual will also contribute to a positive customer experience by supporting clear communication, efficient turnaround times, and reliable workmanship.

Qualifications

  • Current MOT tester license (DVSA-approved) and proven experience as a vehicle technician or mechanic.
  • Strong skills in vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and mechanical repairs across various makes and models.
  • Solid understanding of MOT testing procedures, roadworthiness standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly, provide straightforward explanations, and support excellent customer service.
  • Good organization and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment.
  • Commitment to health and safety practices, attention to detail, and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Relevant automotive qualifications (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent) are highly desirable.
  • Experience in a similar independent garage or dealership environment and a valid UK driving license are beneficial.
