About Trans Mountain Corporation
Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada's only pipeline network transporting petroleum products to the West Coast. It delivers approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products every day through its dual pipeline network of over 1,150 kilometers of oil pipelines in Alberta, British Columbia, and the State of Washington.
Trans Mountain also operates a state-of-the-art loading facility, the Westridge Marine Terminal, which has three berths providing access to global markets through waterways.

Trans Mountain is looking for a motivated and values-driven, collaborative individual to join our dynamic team as a Pipeline Protection Technician. In this role, you will contribute to the accurate determination of Trans Mountain assets and their protection from external mechanical damage during ground disturbances, while also helping stakeholders know safe practices surrounding those assets.
Main Responsibilities
- Communicate Trans Mountain pipeline protection standards and practices to Trans Mountain employees and third parties.
- Respond to excavation notifications (One Call), including all required documentation.
- Inspect the site of activities occurring on or near Trans Mountain right-of-way to ensure compliance and enforcement of Trans Mountain pipeline protection zones and excavation conditions on the right-of-way.
- Represent Trans Mountain in public forums to enhance awareness of damage prevention issues.
- Analyze, interpret, and use charts and other information contained in drawings or generated by GIS technology.
- Locate pipeline locations using GI, GPS, and pipeline locating equipment.
- Inspect the right-of-way to ensure compliance with the Trans Mountain Signage Program.
- Perform periodic review and provide feedback on Trans Mountain operational documentation, including work plans, procedures, and scheduling.
- Perform operational tasks as required, including paperwork, sample container replacement, implementation, and sequencing.

Qualifications and Work Experience
- High school diploma, a requirement.
- Technical diploma in a related field and journeyman certificate, preferred.
- ATV, snowmobile, boat, and spill response training, an asset.
- Line locating training, an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality work, manage competing priorities, and support key operational processes or functions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders from various backgrounds and levels within an organization.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly, respectfully, and professionally.
- Proven organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to inclusive practices and a willingness to contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive workplace culture.
Terms of Employment
- You may be required to travel.
- A valid passport is required and you must be able to travel to Canada for required training.
- A valid state driver's license is required and you must be able to provide a 10-year driving record.
- You may be required to work outside of normal business hours or on weekends.

In British Columbia, the network crosses the traditional territories of many First Nations affiliated with the Secwepemc, Dakelh (Carrier), Nlaka'pamux, Syilx/Okanagan, Interior Salish, Coast Salish, Stó:lo, and Métis.
Trans Mountain also operates its activities on 15 First Nations reserves located in the region that stretches from the interior of British Columbia to the Fraser Valley.
