Technology Business Manager

Vice President – Technology Business Manager (COO Office)

£120,000 - £140,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits | London Hybrid

Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading global financial institution for an experienced Vice President – Technology Business Manager to join the Office of the Technology COO. This is a highly visible leadership role, working closely with the Technology COO and senior leadership team to drive the operational excellence, strategic execution, and transformation of the Technology function.

You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future operating model, improving organisational performance, optimising workforce and cost strategies, and strengthening engagement between Technology and the wider business. The successful candidate will combine strong business management, strategic execution, stakeholder management, and operational leadership experience within a complex, regulated Technology environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Technology COO to deliver strategic priorities across the Technology function.
  • Lead performance management through KPIs, scorecards, executive reporting, and data-driven insights.
  • Drive workforce planning, organisational design, capacity management, and headcount strategy.
  • Lead cost optimisation initiatives across workforce, vendors, and operating models.
  • Support delivery of Technology strategy, transformation programmes, and organisational change initiatives.
  • Challenge and enhance Technology operating models, governance, and ways of working to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Technology and the wider business, ensuring strategic alignment.
  • Champion innovation by driving AI and emerging technology initiatives that improve productivity and business outcomes.

Essential:

  • Significant experience within a Technology COO, Technology Business Management, Strategy, or Operational Leadership role.
  • Previous experience within Banking or Financial Services in a complex, regulated environment.
  • Strong background in Technology strategy execution, operational transformation, and organisational effectiveness.
  • Experience leading workforce planning, capacity management, financial management, and cost optimisation initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior executives across Technology and Business functions.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting Technology operating model transformation.
  • Exposure to AI, automation, or innovation programmes.
  • Experience working across global Technology organisations.
  • Understanding of governance, risk management, and regulatory expectations within financial services.
