Role Overview
MUFG is seeking a Technology Business Manager at Vice President level to join their London office, acting as a senior member within the Office of the Technology COO. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to work closely with the Technology COO and broader leadership team, driving key priorities across the COO function and supporting the effective operation of MUFG’s Technology division throughout EMEA and international entities.
You will be instrumental in translating strategy into execution, ensuring strong alignment between Technology and business objectives, and overseeing financial management, workforce strategy, communications, governance, and strategic initiatives. - Support the COO function in managing the operational aspects of the Technology organisation by ensuring efficient, scalable, and well-governed ways of working that align with strategic priorities.
- Drive delivery of cost optimisation initiatives across workforce, vendors, and operating models while maintaining regulatory compliance around safety and soundness.
- Lead workforce planning activities including hiring processes, organisational design, and alignment to strategic priorities to ensure optimal talent deployment.
- Deliver employee engagement initiatives such as survey actions, communications strategies, and culture programmes that foster a positive workplace environment.
- Coordinate execution of Technology strategy through leadership offsites, planning cycles, and structured demand management across the portfolio.
- Develop and enhance performance management frameworks including KPIs, scorecards, reporting mechanisms to enable data-driven decision making.
- Support structured prioritisation of resources against key strategic outcomes by balancing workforce capacity with business demand.

- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency by simplifying processes and enhancing execution across the organisation while challenging existing structures constructively.
- Build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders across business functions to position Technology as a trusted partner and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
What You Bring

- Significant experience in technology COO roles or business management positions within financial services environments where regulatory compliance is paramount.
- Proven track record supporting delivery of strategic initiatives and operational transformation projects that require collaboration across multiple teams.
- Experience in financial management practices including budgeting, cost optimisation strategies, and resource allocation within complex organisations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop workforce strategies encompassing hiring processes, organisational design, talent deployment, and capacity planning.
- Strong exposure to global organisations with intricate regulatory requirements where stakeholder engagement is critical for success.
- Excellent communication skills enabling you to deliver clear messaging across diverse audiences including town halls and senior leadership updates.
- Results-oriented approach combined with accountability for delivering measurable outcomes on time amidst tight deadlines.
