Technology Director

A&O IT Group is looking for an ambitious Technology Director to lead the day-to-day technology function and drive the next phase of our digital transformation. This is a unique opportunity for someone who has built their career in strong technical roles – perhaps as a Senior Engineer, Technical Lead, Head of Engineering, or as a trusted deputy to a CTO/Technology Director – and is ready to step up and take ownership of the technology agenda.

You will be the primary party responsible for technology delivery, working under the strategic guidance and mentorship of the Non-Executive Director (Technology). You will lead a team of technology professionals across the UK, India and Kenya, and work closely with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to ensure technology continues to be a driver of business growth, operational excellence and client value.

This is a hands-on leadership role where strategic thinking must be matched by the ability to get into the detail when needed. You will also play a key role in Pre-Sales engagement with customers of both A&O IT Services and Corsaire businesses, and attend SLT meetings as the technology representative.

We have recently completed a significant 20-week business process automation programme delivering the A&O Business Hub – an end-to-end automation platform from customer onboarding through to quoting, billing and performance analysis. The successful candidate will inherit a strong technology foundation with modern platforms, established automation capabilities, and a committed team. The focus will be on embedding these capabilities, continuing to innovate, and ensuring technology empowers and enables the business.

What You’ll Do

Technology Delivery & Leadership

  • Own the day-to-day technology delivery, ensuring alignment with the strategic direction set with the NED
  • Build and maintain a technology roadmap that balances innovation, stability and cost-effectiveness
  • Position technology as a business enabler – removing friction, accelerating delivery and supporting growth
  • Provide technology governance, ensuring appropriate controls, security standards and compliance
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations on adoption, investment and retirement
  • Attend and contribute to SLT meetings as the technology representative

Microsoft Environment & Partner Status

  • Lead and optimise our Microsoft technology stack including Azure cloud infrastructure and services
  • Oversee Microsoft 365 environment, driving adoption and ensuring effective use across the business
  • Own the Power BI strategy for business intelligence, reporting and data-driven decision making
  • Manage and develop our Dynamics 365 environment, including Business Central, to support business operations
  • Support and advance our Microsoft Solutions Partner status, contributing to certifications, specialisations and partner development

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
