Technology Lead
Senior Business Analyst – Data Migration (Critical Role)
Must Have Skills
- Strong experience in business analysis within data migration and systems replacement
- Good understanding of data modelling, data quality assessment, and data governance principles
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have Skills
- Exposure to Market-Wide Half Hourly (MHHS) would be very useful
- Ability to gather information about existing data structures, data sources, business processes, and system dependencies

Data Assessment & Gap Analysis
- Analyze the legacy application’s data model, data volumes, data quality, and usage patterns
- Identify gaps between the current data model and the target application’s data structure
- Define data cleansing, archiving, and quality-improvement needs

Requirements Definition & Migration Strategy
- Capture and define business, functional, and non-functional requirements for data migration
- Identify data mapping requirements, transformation rules, validation needs, and migration constraints
- Support development of the future-state data model and migration strategy
- Define high-level migration scope, including in-scope/out-of-scope data entities

Stakeholder & Technical Collaboration
- Work with business users to establish acceptance criteria for migrated data
- Act as the communication bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams

Risk & Impact Assessment
- Assess risks, issues, and impacts related to data migration activities
- Document system and process dependencies that may influence migration planning

Documentation & Reporting
- Produce clear documentation, including:
- Discovery findings
- Requirements specifications
- Data dictionaries
- Process maps
- Gap analyses
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a structured and accessible manner
