Job Title: Technology Lead – Business Analyst (Data Migration)

Location

Notthingham, UK (2 days Work-From-Office)

Duration

4 months (Inside IR35)


Must-Have Skills

  • Strong experience in business analysis within data migration and systems replacement.
  • Good understanding of data modelling, data quality assessment, and data governance principles.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Exposure to Market-Wide Half Hourly (MHHS) would be very useful.
  • Gather information about existing data structures, data sources, business processes, and system dependencies.

Minimum Years of Experience

  • 8+ years

Responsibilities

  • Gather information about existing data structures, data sources, business processes, and system dependencies.
  • Analyze the legacy application’s data model, data volumes, data quality, and usage patterns.
  • Capture and define business, functional, and non-functional requirements for the data migration.
  • Identify:
    • Data mapping requirements,
    • Transformation rules,
    • Validation needs,
    • Migration constraints.
  • Work with business users to establish acceptance criteria for migrated data.
  • Identify gaps between the current data model and the target application’s data structure.
  • Support the development of the future-state data model and migration strategy.
  • Define high-level migration scope, including in-scope/out-of-scope data entities.
  • Assess risks, issues, and impacts related to data migration activities.
  • Document system and process dependencies that may influence migration planning.
  • Support the identification of:
    • Data cleansing,
    • Archiving,
    • Quality-improvement needs.
  • Produce clear documentation such as:
    • Discovery findings,
    • Requirements specifications,
    • Data dictionaries,
    • Process maps,
    • Gap analyses.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a structured and accessible manner.
  • Act as the communication bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
