Join the Close Brothers Technology Team where you will act as a critical link between business stakeholders and the development team, ensuring that iterative, customer centric solutions are delivered in alignment with business goals, even as requirements evolve, by maintaining close collaboration and clear communication across all parties.
Working as part of the Technology team our ideal team member will have previous experience in strengthening product development capacity by ensuring that business problems are clearly understood, priorities are well-shaped, and intent is translated into delivery-ready work ahead of implementation with excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with Product Owners, Software Engineers, QA Engineers, UX designers, other enduring team representatives and a wide range of business stakeholders.
- Applies value stream and customer journey expertise to rapidly interpret context and partners with the Product Owner to shape business problems into Epics aligned to value outcomes and product goals.
- Be accountable for creating and shaping Epics and Stories aligned to Product Owner goals and value outcomes, ensuring they are fit for all consumers (engineering, testing, UAT, business stakeholders); uses delivery insight and metrics to maintain continuous flow across current and next sprint.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to define performance metrics that optimise flow across the value stream.
- Works continuously with business stakeholders on an ongoing product journey; helping shape problems and opportunities, grounding discussions in evidence.
- Ensures that all governance and compliance requirements are adhered to and that required reporting and review activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/ARE:
- Worked within a digital, data, technology or engineering function, operating in close proximity to Agile software delivery teams and business stakeholders.
- Highly experienced at engaging stakeholders, influencing outcomes, and facilitating rapid decision making within an Agile team.
- Technically literate, able to discuss design concepts (APIs, data flows, integration patterns) with engineers to shape high quality requirements.
- Evaluated complex business problems and data, identify root causes, and devise effective solutions that deliver business value.
- Demonstrable technical credibility through the ability to analyse and challenge interface definitions (e.g. Swagger / OpenAPI) and use simple SQL or other data analysis tools to support analysis, data validation, and delivery readiness.
- Able to maintain an understanding of systems architecture principles.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:
- An understanding of financial services regulatory context.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD and automated testing practices.
- Worked in small, cross functional Agile squads (5–9 people).
- Exposure to system analysis activities (data mapping, embedded logic interpretation).
- Exposure to using backlog tools (Azure DevOps, Jira) to manage Epics and Stories.
- Awareness of secure development practices, data privacy requirements and how they influence design.
