About Us

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team of lawyers and advisers within our Legal & Risk function who provide commercially-minded legal advice to the firm on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues. This role influences Linklaters’ global compliance with applicable law and regulations, and professional rules and standards. It is part of the firm’s approach to risk management worldwide, within the Practice, Partnership and Business Teams, to ensure that Linklaters’ reputation is preserved, and relevant laws and regulations and professional rules and standards are complied with – specifically with regards to managing the risks associated with the adoption and deployment of new and existing technology and AI tools and platforms within Linklaters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on legal, regulatory and risk issues arising from the use of technology, AI and innovation tools across the firm.
  • Supporting the firm's technology governance, compliance and risk management frameworks, helping to balance innovation with appropriate risk management.
  • Partnering with stakeholders across Legal & Risk, Technology, Procurement and Innovation teams to support strategic technology initiatives.
  • Monitoring and responding to emerging legal and regulatory developments affecting technology and AI, translating requirements into practical business solutions.
  • Contributing to client, leadership and firm-wide initiatives relating to technology risk, governance, compliance and training.

About You

We are interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 4 years' post-qualification relevant experience gained within a leading City law firm, in-house legal team or relevant regulatory environment.
  • Experience advising on technology, AI, regulatory, data, risk or compliance-related matters.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills alongside the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach and interest in supporting the responsible adoption of innovative technologies.
