Location Overview
Our London office is based just a stone’s throw from the magnificent St. Paul’s Cathedral on bustling King Edward Street. Here you’ll find modern workspaces and a state-of-the-art auditorium space. The Team

Working across technology, operations, business, compliance, and risk teams, we play a critical role in supporting high-frequency trading platforms across EMEA markets. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge observability and service management technologies while contributing to the stability, resilience, and performance of mission-critical electronic trading systems.
Role Description
As our Electronic Trading environment continues to grow in scale and importance, we are seeking an experienced Technology Services Lead to join our London-based Application Production Services Engineering team. You will be part of a diverse global function responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and operational excellence of low-latency Equities trading platforms. Working closely with traders, developers, infrastructure teams, and operations, you will take ownership of production services, lead incident management activities, and drive continuous improvements across platform performance, automation, and resilience.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is passionate about operational excellence within financial markets technology.

Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of production systems, leading major incident response, triage, recovery, and stakeholder communications through to resolution
- Partner closely with trading desks and operations teams, providing timely updates and managing complex production queries with confidence
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks across applications, infrastructure, and operational workflows to improve platform resilience and performance
- Maintain strong change management discipline, particularly during critical trading periods and high-impact market events
- Lead root cause investigations and drive permanent remediation of recurring issues and technical debt
- Deliver measurable improvements in platform stability and reductions in incident volumes through continuous service improvement initiatives
- Champion automation, monitoring, and tooling enhancements to improve efficiency, observability, and operational control
- Collaborate with global teams, mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the development of overall engineering capability
What we are looking for
We’re seeking a proactive and technically strong engineer with excellent problem-solving ability and a passion for supporting business-critical trading systems.
- Experience working within UNIX/Linux environments
- Scripting or automation experience using Python or Shell
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Cribl, or Netcool
- A solid understanding of incident, problem, and change management processes
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- Confidence leading incident bridges, coordinating technical teams, and driving clear, effective communication during critical situations
- A proven ability to take ownership, lead through complex operational challenges, and influence positive outcomes across teams
Experience within Equities trading or financial markets environments would be highly advantageous
Skills that will help
- Exposure to FIX protocol and electronic trading systems
- Understanding of networking concepts and connectivity troubleshooting
- Experience with OMS platforms and vendor technologies such as Fidessa, ULLINK, or TTNET
- Familiarity with exchange connectivity and market data platforms including Reuters, Bloomberg, or Exegy
