Technology Systems Specialist (Oracle Fusion)

A core responsibility of this role is the management of Oracle’s quarterly update cycle: from impact assessment and regression testing through to go-live sign-off and post-update validation. You will be the first point of escalation for incidents and changes across Finance, Commercial, Procurement, and HR, working closely with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) and internal stakeholders to maintain system integrity and drive adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Oracle Fusion Configuration

Own and deliver functional configuration across Oracle Fusion ERP (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Projects/Costing) and HCM (Core HR, Absence, Organisation Structures, Payroll interfaces), including setups, profile options, flex fields, lookups, value sets, and workflow approval rules. Translate business requirements from Finance, Commercial, HR, and Procurement into functional designs, configuration specifications, and testable user stories. Maintain a configuration register documenting all setups, change decisions, and rationale to support audit readiness and knowledge continuity. Champion standard Oracle functionality over customisation; document justification where deviations are approved.

Project Delivery

Contribute to Oracle Fusion enhancement projects and new module implementations, covering functional design, SIT/UAT planning, defect management, cutover, and post-go-live support. Prioritise the change backlog with Finance, HR, Commercial, and IT stakeholders, balancing BAU stability with continuous improvement.

Quarterly Update Management

Act as the primary owner of Oracle’s quarterly update lifecycle, managing the full cycle from Oracle release notes through to post-update stabilisation. Produce and maintain an update calendar aligned to Oracle’s published schedule; co-ordinate sandbox environment refreshes and testing windows with IT and business stakeholders. Conduct impact assessments for each quarterly release, identifying configuration, integration, and reporting changes that may affect live operations. Lead and document regression testing across key finance cycles (P2P, O2C, R2R, Fixed Assets, Project Costing/CVR inputs) and HCM processes. Manage go-live readiness sign-off, stakeholder communications, and post-update hyper care, including rapid triage of any defects introduced by the update.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Act as the primary liaison with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) for day-to-day fixes, enhancements, and release validation.
