Telecom Cyber Security Architect – UK Telecommunications Security Act

Empiric has received an exciting opportunity for an experienced Telecom Cyber Security Architect to support a leading global telecommunications organisation on a long-term freelance programme.

The role is focused specifically on the UK Telecommunications Security Act, supporting security architecture, regulatory assurance and remediation across critical telecom networks and platforms.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess telecom solutions and architecture against UK Telecommunications Security Act requirements
  • Perform Secure-by-Design and security architecture reviews
  • Identify control gaps, risks and remediation requirements
  • Translate regulatory requirements into practical security controls
  • Produce security architecture, assurance, risk and compliance documentation
  • Work closely with network architects, engineering teams, governance functions and senior stakeholders
  • Support compliance across telecom domains such as RAN, Core, OSS/BSS, network infrastructure, cloud or data-centre environments

Essential experience

  • Direct experience working with the UK Telecommunications Security Act
  • Previous security architecture or assurance experience within a telecom operator, vendor or consultancy
  • Strong understanding of telecom networks and platforms
  • Experience with security control assessments, gap analysis and remediation
  • Secure-by-Design, architecture assurance or security governance experience
  • Strong knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 or SABSA
  • Excellent English communication and stakeholder-management skills
