The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, testing, commissioning, and technical assurance of mission-critical voice communication systems within the UK rail environment. The role requires extensive experience with Cisco Unified Communications technologies, IP networking, operational voice systems, and railway telecommunications standards. The engineer will work closely with project managers, design authorities, clients, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver highly available, resilient, and secure voice communication solutions in accordance with Network Rail, London Underground, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Cisco Unified Communications (CUCM) solutions.
- Design, configure and support Cisco Voice Gateways (ISR/CUBE/SIP/H.323/MGCP).
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routing and switching infrastructure.
- Design resilient IP voice architectures.
- Configure SIP trunks, ICT trunks, dial plans, route patterns, partitions, CSS, and media resources.
- Design of Cisco IP Telephony solutions.
- Deploy, configure and support BT IP Trade systems including:
- Configure and integrate Voice Recording solutions (e.g. Red Box Recorders).
- Support voice migration projects from legacy to modern IP-based platforms.
- Produce technical documentation.
