Telematics Supervisor

A hands-on Telematics Supervisor position with M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions

Where will you be working? Our Group Support roles span 11,000+ colleagues who deliver essential infrastructure across water, energy, transport, and telecom. With 8 depots UK-wide, M Group Services manages:

  • 9,000+ vehicles
  • 25,000+ owned/hired fleet assets

About the Role

You’ll lead a small team managing telematics systems across a circa 15,000-strong vehicle fleet. This hybrid role blends operational administration with team leadership, ensuring seamless tracking and lifecycle data integrity.

📌 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead, motivate, and develop a small telematics team via workload planning, coaching, and performance management.
  • Telematics Administration:

    • Guarantee accurate system updates, data integrity, and fleet-wide reporting.
    • Oversee installation, removal, and reallocation of telematics units (collaborating with fitters and suppliers).

  • Troubleshooting & Escalation:

    • Act as first point of escalation for complex telematics issues.
    • Coordinate fault resolution while adhering to service levels and KPIs.
  • Compliance & Reporting:

    • Monitor team performance and produce regular reports on installations, metrics, and outstanding actions.
    • Bound by GDPR, ensuring audit-ready compliance and process improvements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Foster strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.

📋 What You’ll Bring

Key experience and skills include:

  • Operational expertise: Telematics/fleet management or equivalent.
  • Leadership qualification: Prior supervisory/team leadership roles.
  • Technical proficiency:
    • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Excel/Outlook) and fleet/telematics platforms.
    • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage accuracy under scrutiny.
  • Collaborative mindset: Adaptable for hybrid environments (remote + depot).
