Telemetry Application Support Engineer
📍 Brighton (Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite)
💰 £150 - £180 per day (Inside IR35)
📅 12-Month Initial Contract (Highly Likely Extension)
⏰ 37 Hours per Week | Monday – Friday

Our client is seeking a Telemetry Application Support Engineer to join a busy operational technology and applications support function. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Application Support professional to work within a critical infrastructure environment, supporting business-critical telemetry and operational technology systems.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of operational applications, working closely with technical teams, service delivery functions, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide application support across telemetry and operational technology platforms.
- Manage and resolve service requests, incidents, and problem tickets in line with agreed service levels.
- Perform fault finding, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Support BAU operations, system enhancements, and transition activities.
- Work closely with Service Desk and Service Delivery teams to maintain effective support processes.
- Carry out database configuration and maintenance activities following established standards.
- Provide technical input and effort estimates to support project delivery.
- Create and maintain support documentation, configuration records, and knowledge articles.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to ensure operational stability and service improvement.

Essential Experience
- Previous experience in Application Support, Production Support, or L2 Support roles.
- Strong experience managing incidents, service requests, and problem management activities.
- Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and fault-analysis skills.
- Experience supporting business-critical applications within a live operational environment.
- Good understanding of database concepts and application configuration.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced support environment.
- Experience working alongside Service Desk and Service Delivery teams.
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn new technologies, including telemetry and operational technology systems.

Desirable Experience
- Exposure to Telemetry, SCADA, or Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Knowledge of PLCs and telemetry-related systems.
- Experience within Utilities, Water, Energy, or other critical infrastructure sectors.
- Telecommunications or IT Network support experience.
- Hardware installation and maintenance experience.
- Programming or scripting knowledge.
- ITIL Foundation v4 (or higher).
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Science, Database Administration, or a related discipline.
