Telesales / Business Developer

Role: Business Developer
Join Howdens as a Business Developer and play a key role in growing your local depot. We’re looking for someone who enjoys speaking to people face-to-face and on the phone, building relationships, and driving business.
You’ll introduce Howdens to new trade customers, stay close to existing accounts, and identify opportunities to grow spend by understanding customer needs and their projects.
Working Environment & Collaboration
Working as part of a busy depot team, you’ll support sales activity by:
- Generating leads
- Arranging appointments
- Keeping the pipeline moving
You’ll collaborate closely with:
- Kitchen Sales Designers
- Territory Sales Representatives
- Converting conversations into opportunities and opportunities into sales.

Key Responsibilities
Your Daily Work Includes:
- Calling existing trade customers to build long-term relationships and grow potential business
- Using customer data to identify inactivity, bringing accounts back on track
- Managing a targeted customer list and achieving daily call targets
- Keeping up to date with customer projects to spot opportunities for added value, repeat sales, and advisory growth
- Arranging surveys, appointments, deep-dive sales meetings, and pre-sorted sales events for Kitchen Sales Designers
- Promoting Our products, offers,Discounts and upcoming events to keep customers engaged
- Supporting administration, including invoicing and outgoing mail
- Collaborating with the wider team to help your Depot beat it’s monetary targets and deliver excellent customer service

Requirements
Who We’re Looking For:
- A confident communicator, comfortable speaking to customers on the phone and in person
- Someone who thrives building relationships and converting discussions into growth opportunities
- Someone who is commercially astute, focused on driving sales and adding measurable value
- A self-motivated, upbeat, positive, and proactive individual
- Dependable, organised, and adept at managing customer activity while keeping an accurate track of opportunities & KPIs
- Bought-in to and acclimatised to working to call targets and activity levels
Helpful in practice but not essential:
- relevant roles or experience in:
- Telesales
- Account management
- Customer-focused roles
