Business Developer – Howdens Joinery
Join the UK’s No1 Trade Kitchen Supplier
Join Howdens as a Business Developer and play a key role in growing your local depot. We’re looking for someone who enjoys speaking to people face-to-face and on the phone, building relationships, and driving business.
You’ll:
- Introduce new trade customers to Howdens
- Stay close to existing accounts
- Spot opportunities to grow spend by understanding customer needs and projects
Working as part of a busy depot team, you’ll:
- Support sales activity by generating leads, arranging appointments, and keeping the pipeline moving
- Work closely with Kitchen Sales Designers and Territory Sales Representatives
- Convert conversations into opportunities and opportunities into sales

Key Requirements
We’re looking for:
- A confident communicator comfortable speaking to customers on the phone and face-to-face
- Someone who enjoys building relationships and turning conversations into opportunities
- A commercially minded individual with a focus on driving sales and adding value
- Self-motivated, positive, and proactive
- Organised and reliable, able to manage customer activity and track pipelines
- Comfortable working to call targets and activity levels
- Experience in telesales, account management, or a customer-focused role is helpful
Key Responsibilities
Your role will involve:
- Calling existing trade customers to build long-term relationships and grow future business
- Using customer data to spot inactivity and bring accounts back on track
- Managing a targeted customer list and achieving daily call activity levels
- Keeping up to date with customer projects to identify opportunities to add value and drive repeat business
- Arranging surveys and appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers
- Promoting products, offers, and events to keep customers engaged
- Supporting administration, including invoicing and general depot tasks
- Working closely with the wider team to help the depot hit its targets and deliver great service
