Telesales / Business Developer

Business Developer – Howdens Joinery

Join the UK’s No1 Trade Kitchen Supplier

Join Howdens as a Business Developer and play a key role in growing your local depot. We’re looking for someone who enjoys speaking to people face to face and on the phone, building relationships and driving business. You’ll introduce new trade customers to Howdens, stay close to your existing accounts, and spot opportunities to grow spend by understanding what your customers need and what they’re working on.

Working as part of a busy, depot team, you’ll support sales activity by:

  • Generating leads
  • Arranging appointments
  • Keeping the pipeline moving

You’ll work closely with Kitchen Sales Designers and Territory Sales Representatives, helping convert conversations into opportunities and opportunities into sales. If you’re confident on the phone, enjoy building rapport, and are motivated by targets and results, you’ll fit right in.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a confident communicator, comfortable speaking to customers face-to-face and on the phone
  • Enjoys building relationships and turning conversations into opportunities
  • Is commercially minded, with a focus on driving sales and adding value
  • Is self-motivated, positive, and proactive
  • Is organised and reliable, able to manage customer activity and track pipelines
  • Is comfortable working towards call targets and activity levels
  • Has telesales, account management, or customer-focused role experience (helpful but not essential)

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Calling existing trade customers to build relationships and secure future business
  • Using customer data to identify inactivity and revive accounts
  • Managing a targeted customer list to meet daily call activity targets
  • Keeping up to date with customer projects to spot opportunities and drive repeat sales
  • Arranging surveys and appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers
  • Promoting products, offers, and events to engage customers
  • Supporting depot administration, including invoicing and operational tasks
  • Collaborating with the team to hit targets and deliver outstanding service
