Telesys STP Engineer – London (3 Days Onsite)
Location: London, UK (3 days onsite per week)
Duration: Contract
Start Date: ASAP
Experience Required: 8+ Years
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Telesys STP Engineer to support the deployment, configuration, integration, and optimization of Telesys Signal Transfer Point (STP) platforms within a telecom core network environment. The successful candidate will have deep expertise in SS7 signaling, Global Title Translation (GTT), routing optimization, protocol-level troubleshooting, and high-availability telecom network operations.
This role will involve working closely with core network teams to ensure reliable signaling services across legacy and modern telecom infrastructures, including 2G, 3G, 4G, and emerging 5G environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, commission, and support Telesys STP platforms.
- Configure and maintain point codes, linksets, routes, and Global Title Translation (GTT).
- Manage SS7 signaling links including A-links, B-links, and C-links.
- Prepare and execute MOPs (Methods of Procedure) for upgrades, migrations, and network changes.
- Integrate STP platforms with core network elements including:
- MSC
- HLR
- SMSC
- IN Platforms
- Signaling Gateways
- Support legacy SS7 signaling and interworking scenarios.
- Perform protocol-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Analyze signaling traces and logs to resolve network issues.
- Configure routing based on IMSI, MSISDN, and GT translation requirements.
- Optimize signaling routing tables and load distribution strategies.
- Conduct health checks, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and resilience assessments.
- Support high-availability and disaster recovery configurations.
- Participate in network upgrades, testing, implementation, and operational support activities.

Required Technical Skills
SS7 Signaling Expertise
- Strong understanding of:
- MTP Level 1, 2 & 3
- SCCP (Connectionless & Connection-Oriented)
- TCAP
- MAP Signaling
- Hands-on experience configuring:
- Point Codes
- Linksets
- Routes
- Global Title Translation (GTT)
Telecom Core Network Knowledge
- Strong understanding of:
- 2G / 3G / 4G / 5G Core Networks
- MSC
- HLR
- SMSC
- IN Platforms
- Signaling Gateways

- Exposure to Diameter signaling architectures.
- Understanding of LTE and 5G signaling evolution.
- Experience deploying telecom applications on:
- Bare Metal Infrastructure
- KVM
- VMware
- Kubernetes-based CNF environments
- Familiarity with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Experience working in carrier-grade, highly available telecom environments.
Candidate Profile
- 8+ years of telecom signaling and core network experience.
- Proven experience working with Telesys STP platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently within complex production environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Available to work onsite in London 3 days per week.
