Contract: Fixed term / Secondment (12 months) Hours: 36 hours per week Location: Civic Centre & other locations as required

As Temporary Accommodation Specialist Project Manager, you’ll drive rapid, practical interventions within Housing Needs & Support, bridging operational delivery and strategic initiatives. This is a pivotal role—you’ll collaborate across housing provision, property services, and homelessness partners to fast-track residents into stable homes while aligning projects with council-wide goals.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll take ownership of critical programmes focused on building and sustaining pathways out of homelessness, including:
- Leading multi-workstream projects to reduce temporary accommodation reliance
- Supporting homeless households to transition into long-term housing faster
- Coordinating the mobilisation of new housing stock (e.g., purchasing and repurposing properties) to maximise swift occupancy
- Leveraging data and insights to identify priority cases, track progress, and drive service efficiency
- Partnering with Property Services, Housing Management, landlords, and external agencies to foster innovation in housing solutions
- Overseeing private rental and supported accommodation initiatives to create scalable housing alternatives
- Producing strategic reports to justify decisions to senior leaders and governance boards

Essential Requirements
This is a leadership opportunity for project managers with proven experience in homelessness and temporary accommodation within a local authority context. Prospective candidates should demonstrate:
- 4+ years of experience delivering housing, homelessness, or temporary accommodation projects
- A track record of reducing reliance on temporary solutions while improving resident outcomes
- Expertise in data-driven analysis: ability to translate metrics into actionable strategies
- Confidence in stakeholder management, from senior leaders to external partners
- Problem-solving acumen, with a transition-from-strategy-to-delivery mindset
- Excellent communication, organisation, and adaptability in fast-moving environments
- Ability to work in a collaborative, yet outcome-focused capacity
