Job Description
Chanela Winery is looking to recruit a Temporary Harvest Cellar Associate for the upcoming 2026 harvest. The Temporary Harvest Cellar Associate role will be a seasonal position for the 2026 harvest ending on November 8th, 2026 or after. Chanela Winery is a small boutique winery in the hills overlooking St. George, UT. In this role you will be exposed to and trained in all aspects of harvest and get a very well-rounded experience. We work with 13 different varieties, all estate grown, and farmed.
Location
In-person in St. George, UT, 84790: Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
Responsibilities
- Assist in all harvest cellar activities
- Winery sanitation such as cleaning equipment, wine tanks, and hoses.
- Hand-picking fruits according to vineyard specifications and ensuring fruits are handled delicately to avoid damage.
- Sorting fruits to remove any damaged or undesirable fruit and ensuring only the best fruits are collected for processing.
- Operation and cleaning of crush equipment.
- Punch downs and Pump Overs.
- Racking and wine transfer.
- Barrel filling, topping, stirring, and racking.
- Draining tanks, digging out pomace, and pressing pomace.
- Working closely with other harvest workers and vineyard staff to achieve daily harvesting targets and maintain a positive team environment.
- Adhering to safety protocols and quality standards to ensure a safe working environment and high-quality harvest.
- Maintain the highest level of sanitation in production work areas.

Skills / Experience
- Previous harvest winery experience preferred, but not required.
- History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Ability to meet safety requirements and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to carry out direction both verbally and/or in written form.
- Ability to work extended hours multiple days a week during peak harvest periods and various shifts.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in cold and wet conditions.
- Ability to bend, squat, stand for long periods, and climb stairs, catwalks, and ladders.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodation.
