Temporary Works Coordinator – Respecting Organisation (Water & Wastewater Infrastructure)
About the Role
Finlay Jude Associates are collaborating with a leading organisation celebrated for delivering major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The client seeks a Temporary Works Coordinator to support current and upcoming projects on a temporary basis.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Coordination
- Lead planning, coordination, and assurance of all Temporary Works (TW) activities across projects
- Maintain the Temporary Works Register, tracking risks and controls for each item’s lifecycle
Design & Safety Compliance
- Develop and implement the project Temporary Works Procedure aligned with company standards and BS 5975
- Prepare Temporary Works Design Briefs, outlining load cases, constraints, interfaces, and methodologies
- Coordinate design assurance, checks, and change control, ensuring as-built records are up-to-date

Interface & Risk Management
- Manage interfacing with permanent works, utilities, scaffolding, lifting operations, earthworks, and geotechnical risks
- Nominate and brief Temporary Works Supervisors, ensuring clear understanding of design intent and inspection protocols
Execute & Monitor
- Oversee installation, inspection, maintenance, monitoring, adaptation, and removal of temporary structures per approved designs
- Enforce strict change management to prevent unauthorized deviations
Documentation & Reporting
- Compile all TW documentation, including design briefs, certificates, permits, inspections, NCRs, and handover/strike records
- Provide weekly updates to the Project Manager on critical TW activities, hold points, design deliverables, risks, and opportunities
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct site inspections, escalate hazards, and stop work where controls are absent

Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Valid CSCS card (relevant level)
- CITB Temporary Works Coordinator Training Course (TWCTC)
- SMSTS or equivalent site management safety certification
- First Aid at Work (desirable)
Technical & Site Competencies
- Appointed Person (Lifting) or LOLER awareness (desirable)
- ≥2 years’ experience in Temporary Works coordination or supervision
- Demonstrated expertise across:
- Civil structures
- Deep excavations
- Formwork/falsework, temporary stability
- Scaffolding, temporary services, heavy lifting, and crane platforms
- Proven ability to manage design checks, permits, hold points, and interface risks
Collaboration & Delivery
- Experience advocating with:
- Tier-1 contractors
- Major subcontractors
- Design consultants
- Exceptional communication, influencing site teams, designers, and stakeholders
