Tenancy Sustainability Officer
Tenancy Sustainability Officer (Housing Support & Welfare Benefits)
Department: Housing Operations
Salary: £32,743 - £33,895 (pro-rata)
Location: Leyland / Preston / wider North West (agile working)
Hours: 36.25 hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term – 6 months
About the Role
Help people sustain their tenancies and thrive.
At Progress Housing Group, we're seeking an experienced and proactive Tenancy Sustainability Officer to support customers through a period of growth, ensuring they retain successful and sustainable tenancies.
This role focuses on assisting tenants in new-build homes by providing access to the right support, maximising income, and overcoming challenges that could jeopardise their tenancy.
Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of new and existing customers
- Completing tenancy affordability and sustainability assessments
- Supporting customers with welfare benefits and income maximisation
- Developing and delivering tailored support plans
- Identifying safeguarding concerns and emerging risks
- Collaborating with internal teams and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes
- Helping prevent tenancy failure, abandonment, and rent arrears

Additional Qualifications:
- Experience supporting customers with complex needs
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage a caseload independently
- Proactive, solution-focused approach
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
