Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tendering & Design Engineer to support the development of technically compliant, tender submissions for LV switchgear, package substations, and EV infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in both the tendering and preliminary design stages of projects, producing technical solutions, drawings, equipment selections, and costing support for customer enquiries. Working closely with the Tendering Manager, Sales, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams, the role requires a strong technical understanding of electrical distribution systems together with excellent communication and organizational skills.

This position would suit an individual with a minimum of five years' experience in a similar role who can work effectively within a team environment whilst also taking ownership of tasks and working under their own initiative.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Preparation & Support

  • Create contract drawings (where applicable) and tender documentation.
  • Develop technically compliant customer solutions for LV switchgear, package substations, and EV charging infrastructure projects in line with specifications.
  • Prepare technical submissions, equipment schedules, and supporting documentation for tender returns. Ensure tender submissions are completed accurately and within required timescales.
  • Assist with post-tender clarifications and customer technical queries. Support value engineering activities to optimize project costs whilst maintaining compliance and functionality.

Design Engineering

  • Produce and modify electrical design drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Create bespoke, contract-specific general arrangement drawings and schematic diagrams.
  • Ensure designs comply with customer requirements, relevant standards, and company procedures.
  • Maintain technical documentation and drawing records throughout the bid process.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
