Tendering Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Tendering Engineer to support our directors in producing high-quality proposals across all business verticals. This is a key role in shaping our success pipeline combining technical expertise, commercial awareness, and excellent communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in PLC/SCADA control systems, exposure to M&E installations, and a proven track record in producing tenders for engineering projects. You will help develop our tendering processes, prepare professional submissions, and support the wider sales function.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Production & Management

  • Monitor tender portals and input opportunities into the CRM.
  • Produce tenders for minor projects, including:
    • Compiling accurate costs
    • Developing tender programmes
    • Producing final commercial and technical proposals
  • Assist directors with larger, more complex tenders.
  • Respond to structured tender questionnaires, including sections on sustainability, social value, and governance.

Documentation & Templates

  • Manage and improve standard costing templates.
  • Maintain and develop proposal templates and supporting documents.

Sales & Reporting

  • Chair monthly sales meetings.
  • Maintain the CRM with accurate, up-to-date information.
  • Prepare monthly and annual sales reports.

Administrative & Client Support

  • Keep sales documentation organised and easily accessible.
  • Handle incoming sales enquiries.
  • Manage client visits.
  • Develop sales material such as testimonials and case studies.

About You

Education

  • Minimum HNC in Electrical, Electronic, Software, or related engineering discipline.

Skills & Experience

  • 5-10 years experience in a tendering or proposals role.
  • Solid understanding of PLC/SCADA systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project for programme development.
  • Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
